Electricity tariffs on King Island.
This tariff schedule is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Electricity Supply
Industry Act 1995. The following schedule
should be read in conjunction with the
Standard Terms and Conditions for Bass Strait
Islands Customers and the Bass Strait Islands
Customer Charter, copies of which can be found at
momentumenergy.com.au/bass-strait-islands
From 1 September 2024, the following tariff,
fees, and charges come into effect.
The energy tariff (Tariff 51) and daily supply
charges have increased by 0.5 per cent in
line with movements in mainland Tasmanian
regulated prices.

Connection fees - New builds and
upgrades
(a) Connections with requirements of up to
25 kVA will incur a fee of $2,301.24 plus
$512.84 per kVA of capacity over 4.5 kVA.
(b) Connections with requirements above
25kVA or any extensions/augmentation
to the distribution system will incur a fee
made up of the actual costs plus 15 per cent
to cover ongoing maintenance.
(c) Estimated design costs will be payable upon
submitting a connection application to
cover the cost of engaging external parties
for design services.
(d) For larger projects, you may also need
to pay an application fee of $2,603.24 to
progress your connection.
(e) Any design deposit or application fee you
pay will be deducted from your payment
if you proceed with the connection. The
deposit and application fee will not be
refunded if you don’t proceed with the offer
to connect.
Pricing for public and contract lighting
Public lighting prices include the provision,
maintenance and replacement of Hydro Tasmaniaowned light 昀椀ttings. Contract lighting prices
include the maintenance of customer-owned
light 昀椀ttings.
